The maximum expression of its terroir, Morellino di Scansano Terre di Fiori is 100% Sangiovese, selected from the 8.5 hectares the estate has dedicated to this varietal. Among the various parcels that contribute their grapes to this young red are the Vigna Elicriso, whose bunches have distinctively intense aromas.

Vinification Maceration and fermentation in temperature-controlled steel tanks for 10-12 days, with gentle pushdowns and brief pumpovers. The malolactic fermentation takes place in cement vats, where the wine remains until bottling, about 12 months after the harvest.

Morellino di Scansano, an up and coming southern Tuscany DOC, is part of the coastal Maremma viticultural area which found fame in the 1970s through Bolgheri’s super-Tuscan stars like Omellaia and Sassicaia.
Located in the province of Grosetto, the core of Morellino di Scansano's vines lie in a 300-500m elevated coastal range around the towns of Scansano and Magliano.
The region has become synonymous with a more modern, lower acidity, black cherry expression of Tuscan Sangiovese (aka Morellino) helped by some of Italy's most up to date equipment and latest technology.
